The CBCM emergency line is operated by Bay Response and their
team of dispatchers. All medical emergencies are recorded via our
electronic dispatch system, which has been tailor made to the needs
of the CBCM and the community. The Bay Response dispatchers follow
a strict standard operating procedure (SOP) in order to dispatch
our team to medical emergencies quickly and efficiently. When a
member is dispatched they receive a SMS stating the nature of your
emergency and your location. As a redundancy, the dispatcher
follows up this dispatch message by contacting the paramedic on
call via cell phone or VHF radio.
CBCM is committed to servicing the community after hours on
weekdays and 24 hours over weekends and public holidays. As our
volunteers all work or study full time during week days it is not
always possible to have a paramedic available during these times,
however, we must stress that the emergency line is manned 24 hours
a day and the dispatcher receiving your emergency call is trained
to assist you and to dispatch the closest emergency medical service
(EMS) to your emergency.
