Which area does CBCM serve?

What number do we dial to access CBCM's services?

The CBCM emergency number is a landline number operated by Bay Response in Camps Bay. This means the number consists of the Cape Town and Camps Bay dialing codes and ends with 4357, which spells “H E L P” on your telephone’s keypad.

Who is behind CBCM?

CBCM is registered both as a Charitable Trust and as a Public Benefit Organisation
and as such is run by a board consisting of 5 trustees and an Executive Committee
consisting of 5 committee members who are elected at CBCM’s annual general
meeting.

The 2011 executive committee consists of:

Who benefits from the service?

CBCM services the areas of Camps Bay, Clifton and Bakoven. This encompasses any
person requiring emergency medical assistance within these areas. In extreme
cases CBCM paramedics have also been requested to assist cases such as the
infamous school bus accident that occurred on Kloof Nek.

How is CBCM funded?

CBCM relies entirely on sponsorships and donations and as such are continually
searching for support from the community and corporates.

How many members does CBCM consist of?

The CBCM team currently consists of 20 volunteers ranging from Basic to Advanced
Life Support paramedics and 2 community members who assist in an administrative
capacity.

Can I be transported by the ambulance CBCM has dispatched, as my medical aid refers to a specific service provider?

In the event that you contact your medical aid directly during an emergency
they will contact the emergency service provider that they have a service level
agreement with. This does not however mean that your medical aid will only pay
out if that specific service provider transports you to hospital. All of the ambulance
services utilised by CBCM are recognised by all medical aids within South Africa.

Why do paramedics do this without income?
